Prices
Anything we charge you will be charged at the price that we pay; we do not make any profit from you. This is partly made possible by the instructors teaching you free of charge, both in the classroom and in the water - in fact, they pay for the privilege of teaching you!
Before you check out the cost breakdowns below, bear in mind that training with PADI to the equivalent qualification as BSAC Sports Diver it would be likely to cost you at least £1200.

We've tried to keep it as simple as possible so that there is only one fee for all new members. The price breakdown above is for new divers, but converts may find that due to the training schedule and costs for their training trips that the final total is slightly less.
The open water training section of the Sports Diver training can be done in the UK or abroad and costs will reflect your decision in this.
Due to our arrangement with LUU and the Edge, all members will gain free entry to the pool for training sessions.
Also if you are a convert then the costs here may be reduced as you might not need one of the training packs and you may also have some of your own dive gear. However, if you really like diving and we promise that you really will, most of you will want to start buying more diving equipment. Usually, the first purchase is a dive computer. Of course, buying more kit is entirely optional but be prepared as you will probably end up spending your student loan on anything diving related!
Why is your new member fee so expensive?
Actually it's not. We are one of the cheapest dive clubs in the UK to join and train with. Here's what your new member fee includes.
| LUUSAC Membership Fee | £30 | This is the standard membership fee that everyone who joins LUUSAC pays every year. |
|---|---|---|
| Ocean Diver Training Pack | £40 | You need this pack to be able to train with us and it includes your qualification book and course notes. Convert divers will have the equivalent Sports Diver pack. |
| Trip Deposit | £55 | This is the deposit for the first training trip that you will be going on so that we can book it straight away. |
| TOTAL | £125 | We know this is a lot as an upfront payment but next year it gets cheaper! |
